NEW DELHI: Senior Aam Aadmi Party leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh addressed a gathering in Rajinder Nagar’s Naraina village. Aam Aadmi Party’s candidate for Rajinder Nagar by-elections Durgesh Pathak was also present on the occasion.
Senior Aam Aadmi Party leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh said, “Kejriwal Government works to improve electricity, water, education, healthcare and roads while the BJP only knows how to spread hate. Congress and BJP are paying the price of undermining the Aam Aadmi who is now on a mission to sweep them off with the Jhaadu.
Aam Aadmi can defeat the sitting CM and create world-class schools as well.” Rajinder Nagar by-elections Durgesh Pathak said, “public service was always his priority. I earlier wanted to become an IAS and now I am in active politics to devote his life for public welfare.”
AAP Senior Leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh said, “Shri Arvind Kejriwal is known for his fearlessness, courage and boldness. He has said that only vote for us if you think that we have delivered what we promised. We promised that we will give free electricity. We have been doing that for five years and it will continue in future as well. We built excellent schools to provide quality education to your children. Healthcare and roads will further improve.
Kejriwal only thinks of how to make your lives better and he only discussed electricity, water, education, healthcare and roads during his election campaign. While on the other hand, the BJP tried to lure voters on the basis of religion and create a divide between Hindus and Muslims. Home Minister Amit Shah only remained stuck to and kept repeating “Shaheen Bhag” all the time like a bus conductor to which the people of Delhi replied “Chal Bhaag, Chal Bhaag”. AAP won 62 seats.”
He continued, “Congress on the other hand got zero seats. People asked me what happened to Congress in the 2020 elections to which I replied that they didn’t lose anything as they had zero seats in both elections. You gave us your blessings by voting for us because they mocked us and the poor people who supported us. They considered that politics was only for privileged people and not for the common man. Your votes were a reply to them that a common man can sweep the filth of politics by bringing us to power in Delhi and now Punjab. This is your strength, your victory. This is the power of votes in a democracy.”
He added, “When Sardar Bhagwant Mann led our campaign in the Punjab elections, the sitting CM of Punjab Channi was defeated by a person who used to work at a mobile repairing shop. Now the people of Rajinder Nagar have the opportunity to elect a loyal soldier of Shri Arvind Kejriwal who works night and day to bring progress in the area and is a resident of H Block of your area, Shri Durgesh Pathak. His opponent from BJP is Rajesh Bhatia who has a habit of abusing people in his neighbourhood. You have to give him a befitting reply by making sure that he does not even get to save his security deposit.”
He added, “Today, take a look at the politics of the country and you will realize that just a couple of families control the politics of this great nation. Go to Kashmir and you will find Sheikh Abdullah, Farooq Abdullah and Umar Abdullah belonging to a single-family and running their party. Mufti Mohammed Saeed and Mehbooba Mufti were no different. Badals in Punjab, Chautalas in Haryana, Thackerays and Pawars in Maharashtra, Mulayam Singh Yadav-Akhilesh Yadav in UP, Lalu-Tejaswi, Paswans in Bihar, Sorens in Jharkhand, Patnaiks in Orissa and in BJP Rajnath Singh-Pankaj Singh, Raman Singh-Abhishek Singh, Kalyan Singh-Rajbir Singh, Vasundhara-Dushyant, Anurag Thakur-Prem Kumar Dhumal all have been flag bearers of dynasty politics. Not to forget, Congress is founded on the ill practice of nepotism, Chacha Nehru, his daughter Indira, her son’s Rajiv and Sanjay, their wives Sonia Menaka, their children Rahul, Priyanka, Varun. All these are private limited companies which need to be shut down.”
Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh said, “The people of Delhi have given overwhelming support to Shri Arvind Kejriwal because he has brought remarkable progress through his work. When he used to inspect government schools back in 2015, they were full of spider webs. There were no toilet facilities but today, there are air-conditioned rooms, swimming pools, and athletic grounds to ensure their overall development. Our teachers receive training from foreign countries. They have outperformed private schools in the 12th Board for the past five years. He also built the Mohalla clinics where citizens can get 200 tests for free, including ultrasound and free medicines. 5 flyovers were built where we saved ₹300 crores of taxpayers’ money. This money was in turn spent on further improving the healthcare facilities.”
He said, “We ensure that people get 20,000 litres per month for free. The poor household no longer remains in the dark and this was arranged for free, which is unprecedented as no other government in the country has done that. Widows, differently-abled and the elderly now receive pensions hiked by two or three-fold and the government also runs a scheme of sending them to Teerth Yatra. Their daughters-in-law can also go along for free. He also brought Farishtay Scheme where if a poor person meets with an accident, people passing by or even their relatives can take them to the hospital and the Delhi government will bear the expense of the treatment, even if it is as much as ₹50 lakhs.”
Senior AAP leader Sanjay Singh said, “A lot of youngsters have gathered here which reminds me of nationwide protests by youngsters which happened today against the repeated lies told by PM Modiji on the issue of employment. He has no clue as to how to generate employment and he keeps befooling us by first saying that 2 crore jobs will be provided. Then he talked about pakoda, katora and gobar employment. Now he is asking the youth to join the Armed Forces for four years & then leave and live their lives in misery. He doesn’t care as to what happens to them later, whether they commit suicide or lead a life of a beggar or destitute. The youth has to bring them back to earth from cloud nine by making sure that they don’t even get their security deposit back in the election.”
He added, “Now the BJP is going around making a fool of the public in the country. First they said that they will provide 2 crore jobs to the youth of the country. They have just made a fool of the public. Then they said that they will double the income of the farmers. After that they said that notebandi is in the interest of the public. Again they made a fool of the public. Then they said that they will provide jobs to the youth in the Army. Then they said that they will provide security for the women of the country.
They also said that they will reduce the inflation levels in the country so that prices of essential commodities are reduced. These people from the BJP have cheated the public in so many ways and therefore the citizens of Rajinder Nagar should show them their real place and give them a benefitting loss.”
He continued, “CM Arvind Kejriwal and Durgesh Pathak are first-generation politicians – they have not had any MLAs or ministers from their families. We are people who come from ordinary families and have worked hard and become politicians. It is because of the love of the people of Delhi that these people hope to become MLAs and ministers and work for the citizens of this city. It is only because of the people of the city that the Aam Aadmi Party came into existence and with its ‘jhaadu’ was able to clean the dirt of Indian politics. Therefore the people of Rajinder Nagar also need to give their love to AAP and vote for Durgesh Pathak who will work 24/7 for the residents of the constituency, he will live among the people here and work hard to make this constituency better.”
Sanjay Singh concluded, “Have you heard the video of the BJP candidate for Rajinder Nagar, Rajesh Bhatia. In it, he was using abusive language against a Dalit person. He has not even become an MLA and he is already using such filthy language against the people from the Dalit community. If by any chance he becomes an MLA, he will start using physical violence against members of the Dalit community. Therefore it is important for the residents to vote wisely on June 23. The people here need to choose between the AAP candidate who has promised to work for the residents of the constituency – just like Shri Arvind Kejriwal has been working – and the BJP candidate who is acting like a hooligan.
AAP’s Rajinder Nagar candidate Durgesh Pathak also spoke on the occasion. He said, “I come from a very humble family where no one had ever thought that one day I would fight an election and try to become an MLA of a constituency. In 2010, over here in Rajendra Nagar I was studying to become an IAS officer and that is when this movement started that eventually formed the Aam Aadmi Party.
“At that time I thought that this party had the potential to change this country for good, and I became a part of it. From that day onwards, I have been working for the betterment of this country through the medium of Aam Aadmi Party. In 2015, with the love of the people, AAP formed the government in Delhi and Shri Arvind Kejriwal became the Chief Minister. Over the last few years this government has changed the face of this city. Even if you speak to a person who is not supportive of the party and of Shri Arvind Kejriwal, even that person would agree that over the last couple of years, this government has brought about a positive change in the city,” he said.
Pathak added, “Five years earlier, one would not want to send their children to a government school in Delhi. There was a dearth of school infrastructure, lack of teachers and therefore the quality of education was poor. People thought that the future of their children would be bleak if the kids were sent to a government school.”
“In just six years, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has brought about such a change that people now want to send their children to a government school. The teachers now in government school are among the best and the level of education has shot up. In the last couple of years, more than 4.5 lakh children who were studying in private schools have now moved to government schools. Would the people of this constituency not want to vote for a person who has done so much for this city?” he said.
He said, “Similarly, five years ago the health infrastructure was so poor that one would not be able to find doctors in hospitals. People were scared to go to a government hospital if anyone in their family fell ill. Within six years now, Arvind Kejriwal has changed the face of health infrastructure in this city. We have very good and qualified doctors working in government hospitals now and most of the medicines and tests are free for the residents of the city. You do not need to sell your valuable property to get your family member treated at a government hospital now. This is what your son Kejriwal has done for this city. Would you not want to vote for Shri Arvind Kejriwal after all that he has done for you?”
Pathak concluded, “The residents here should call up their friends in the neighbouring states of Haryana, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh and ask the people living there about power cuts that they face at their homes. In some areas there, the power cuts last as long as 8-10 hours. In Delhi, there is not even a single minute of power cut. The residents here get 24 hours of electricity for free. This is the magic of Arvind Kejriwal. On June 23, when you go out to vote in Rajendra Nagar, would you not want the same facilities of good schools and Mohalla Clinics to continue in this constituency? Therefore, please vote for AAP and let the magic of Shri Arvind Kejriwal continue in this constituency.”
