Army helicopter crashes in Arunachal, search operation underway

In a tragic incident, an advanced light Army helicopter crashed in Upper Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh on Friday morning, which was carrying Army personnel.

The incident took place at 10.43 am, and search operation is underway, a senior defence official said.

Upper Siang SP Jummar Basar said the crash site is a mountainous region, and it would take time for the search and rescue team to reach the spot.

“Received very disturbing news about Indian Army’s Advanced Light Helicopter crash in Upper Siang District in Arunachal Pradesh. My deepest prayers,” Kiren Rijiju, Minister of Law and Justice tweeted.
