After the news about Delhi’s Principal Secretary (Revenue) Sanjeev Khirwar (IAS) spread who walks his dog at the stadium and allegedly creating disruption for coaches and athletes training at New Delhi’s Thyagraj stadium, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia came swung into action saying that all sports facilities run by the government will now be open for sportsmen till 10pm.
“News reports have brought to our notice that certain sports facilities are being closed early causing inconvenience to sportsmen who wish to play till late nite. CM @ArvindKejriwal has directed that all Delhi Govt sports facilities to stay open for sportsmen till 10pm,” Sisodia tweeted.

Many user on social media demanded probe followed by disciplinary action against the IAS officer, saying that the incident is blunt misuse of power.
One twitter user Dr Jagadish Hiremath said that Common man “athletes” are lesser beings than IAS officer’s dogs. “Common man “athletes” are lesser beings than IAS officer’s dogs. Delhi’s stadium where kids train to win as athletes for India closes the door early because, a privileged & entitled IAS officer wants to walk his dog. IAS has to be dismantled ASAP,” he tweeted.
“Athletes & coaches at Delhi govt-run Thyagraj Stadium were earlier training till 8:30 PM under lights. But now they are made to vacate by 7 PM. That’s bcoz Delhi’s Principal Secretary (IAS Officer) Sanjeev walks his dog at stadium after 7 PM. Such bureaucrats are running India,” another user twitted.

According to report of the Indian Express, athletes complained that they are being asked to vacate the stadium by wrapping up their sessions early.
According to the athletes, they are being forced to wrap up earlier than usual because Delhi’s Principal Secretary (Revenue) Sanjeev Khirwar walks his dog at the stadium a couple of minutes after the training wraps up.
“We used to train till 8-8.30 pm under lights earlier. But now, we are asked to leave the ground by 7 pm so that the officer can walk his dog on the ground. Our training and practice routine has been disrupted,” a coach was reported saying by The Indian Express.
