Morbi suspension bridge collapse: Death toll mounts to 132

Morbi: The death toll in Morbi suspension bridge collapse in Gujarat rose to 130 on Monday.

The rescue efforts still in progress and  team is recovering more bodies from the Machchhu river, a police official said.

A criminal case has been registered in the matter and investigation has begun today under the leadership of Range IGP.

Everyone including Navy, NDRF, Air Force and Army reached the spot quickly and worked all through the night, Gujarat Home Minister Harsh Sanghavi

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Monday held a review meeting.

“A review meeting was held at the Morbi District Collector’s office with the Ministers of State, MPs, MLAs, administrative system, police system, and health service system officials and reviewed the accident’s situation comprehensively and gave necessary guidance,” tweeted CM Bhupendra Patel.

The over a century-old bridge, which had reopened five days ago after extensive repairs and renovation.
