Kejriwal makes a mockery of the special session of the Assembly: Congress

Delhi Congress president Anil Kumar

NEW DELHI: Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Anil Kumar said that the Aam Aadmi Party and BJP MLAs conspired to make a mockery of the special session of the Delhi Assembly yet again as Education Minister Manish Sisodia skirted the corruption behind the construction of class rooms pointed out by the Central Vigilance Commission.

He said that instead of discharging its responsibilities and raising questions about the corruption behind the liquor scam and class room constructions, the BJP MLAs created a situation to get themselves expelled from the House once again, to avoid a discussion on corruption.

Ch. Anil Kumar said that the Kejriwal Government was creating a false narrative regarding the so-called education model, which was non-existent. He said that Kejriwal and Sisodia were talking about the Education Model only to divert attention from the huge corruption behind the implementation of the liquor policy. He said that ever since Kejriwal came to power in Delhi, the number of students taking admissions in Government schools has plummeted while the class attendance was just 40 per cent in Government schools. He said that new admissions in private schools, on the other hand, have gone up from 31 per cent to 43 per cent, which shows the poor state of Government schools in Delhi, as most schools do not have even enough teachers.

Ch. Anil Kumar said that the Kejriwal Government’s decision to move a no-confidence motion in the special session of the Assembly was a mockery as there was no threat to the Government. He said that it was just to show that the AAP MLAs and Ministers were “honest”, and would not desert AAP. He said that Excise and Education Minister Manish Sisodia and Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal were the kingpins of corruption and if Sisodia was honest, he should have resigned till his name was cleared from the liquor and class room construction scams.
