New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has gear up to upgradation of its 41 roads with modern infrastructure at par at international standards, eco-friendly, esthetics look based on Indian Heritage, Culture, Art and Sculpture. This was remarked by Member, NDMC Sh. Kuljeet Singh Chahal in a Press Conference held at NDMC Headquarter, NDMC Palika Kendra New Delhi today.
Chahal informed that a composite Agenda Item in this regard will be initiated by the concerned department in the next Council Meeting with a brief of plan, budgetary provisions, scope of work and other related issues. He further informed that about Rs. 150 Crore of budget will be provided for the upgradation of the 41 roads in NDMC area in view of forthcoming G-20 Summit.
While giving the details of the project, Sh. Chahal said that the Agenda Item will be included Civil, Electrical and Horticulture work of scope for modernization and upgradation of 41 roads. The project included the greenery cover by Indian origin trees, flowers and different spaces to be planted on the road side to make all roads as a eco-friendly area for the pedestrians visitors and gives a look a green lash environment for the vehicle riders from the road.
Sardar Patel Road of NDMC area is the main road to connect the NDMC area from the Airport visitors, the left side of this road will be improvised by the esthetics railings, green art works, sculpture on the theme of Indian Heritage and culture to impact on the visitors about the thoughts of New NDMC of New India.
The road signages are the part of this prestigious project, it will be carried out by the consultation of Indian Road Congress and International standards are also be adopted for the project. The theme of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsava will be inherited in the every aspect of road esthetics. The Modern Art sculpture, street furniture’s, basic amenities and visitors utilities are also included in the main objective of the project planned for G-20-Summit.
The Art and sculptures items will be initiated by the eminent and senior artist of India for the project to give a look of Indian culture and heritage with the theme of central vista look. A separate budgetary provision for the purpose of art material will be also initiated in this project. The Central Government Agencies of Art, Culture and Heritage will be included for the concept, design and consultation to give a esthetics look of all 41 roads in the New Delhi area.
For the energy saving objective of NDMC in this project, solar lights illumination will be provided at all 41 roads, it will be integrated with NDMC Command and Control Center. 250 to 500 solar light billiards of 4 ft. will be illuminated the road pavements for the pedestrians. As many as 18500, street light will be converted in the solar lights in the phase manners in NDMC area. About 4800 smart pillars with a unique chip also be converted into smart pillars and integrated with NDMC Command and Control Center. Safdarjung and Ranjeet Singh Fly over, NDMC building will be illuminated with the solar lighting systems in which energy saving mode installed.
The basic amenities and utilities for the visitors and riders of these roads, New NDMC will be provided the ultra modern street furniture, toilets blocks and leisure facilities.
The Aim and theme of our Hon’ble Prime Minister of India regarding Swachh Bharat Mission will also be addressed/included in this project for providing better and modern facilities for the public utilities with maintaining proper hygienic qualities.
The special training sessions will organize for the NDMC staff to care taking and better utilization of these facilities. The project will make more opportunity for the jobs of young and enthusiastic generation of New India .
