Newly-elected AAP MLA Durgesh Pathak gets into action mode on Day 1 after winning Rajinder Nagar by-election.

NEW DELHI: Newly-elected AAP MLA Durgesh Pathak today conducted an inspection in three areas to begin sewerage work in Rajinder Nagar. In his first day in office, Shri Durgesh Pathak went to the Gurudwara along with senior officials working in the constituency and instructed them to build a new sewerage line, sewerage treatment plant, new water pipeline and gym in the park of the old age home of the Gurudwara.

After this, Durgesh Pathak reviewed the ongoing rain water harvesting work on Shankar Road that is being carried out by the PWD and ordered a quality check of the construction work. He also reviewed the sewerage work in Pandav Nagar and asked the officials of Delhi Jal Board and PWD to be at the site for a detailed discussion tomorrow.

Pathak said that during the by-election it emerged that the biggest problems faced by the residents are regarding sewerage and availability of water, therefore the first step towards fulfilling their promise has been taken.

Senior Aam Aadmi Party leader and Rajinder Nagar MLA Durgesh Pathak said that during the by-election, he had promised the people of Rajinder Nagar that if they showed faith in him and elected him as the AAP MLA, he would work sincerely to solve all their problems.

Pathak also thanked the people of Rajinder Nagar for showing faith in him and electing him from the constituency. “People in Rajinder Nagar are most troubled by the problem of sewerage and water, so today I have taken the first step towards fulfilling their promise. First of all, a meeting was held with the officials for sewerage and water work in the Gurudwara located in Rajinder Nagar. I have discussed with the officials what needs to be done urgently in the coming few days and instructed them to install a sewerage line, sewerage treatment plant, and a new water pipeline. For the convenience of the elderly citizens, a gym will be built in the park of the Old Age Home of the Gurudwara,” Shri Durgesh Pathak said.

He added, “After the Gurudwara visit, we went to review the ongoing rain water harvesting work on Shankar Road. After reviewing the ongoing work, a quality check of the construction work was ordered.” he said.

“The third site was Pandav Nagar, where we reviewed the sewerage work. Tomorrow the officials of Delhi Jal Board and PWD have been called to the site for a detailed discussion. There is a drain in Pandav Nagar which gets waterlogged during the rainy season. In such a situation, the people of the area suffer a lot. We also discussed the feasibility of building a wall to avoid the waterlogging that takes place in the area. The officials have also been called for a review meeting on the issue tomorrow,” he said.

The Aam Aadmi Party leader also instructed the officials to complete all the work at the earliest. He also made it clear that no lapse in the quality of work will be tolerated. “I have been elected by the people to fulfill the needs of the constituency. It is the responsibility of all of us that people should not complain about our work. Every promise made to the public has to be fulfilled. Although it is not possible to fulfill all the promises at once, gradually all the work has to be done one by one,” Pathak said.
