NEW DELHI: The Aam Aadmi Party launched a blistering attack on the BJP alleging that the BJP the world’s largest gang which kidnaps MLAs to topple democratically elected governments all over the country.
Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal said, “After failing in Delhi these people have reached Punjab to break our MLAs, how do they have thousands of crores to buy MLAs all over India? We are not Congress, no matter what they can’t buy our honesty. The way they are overthrowing a democratically elected government is a matter of concern for the safety of this nation and its democracy. These people could not buy our MLAs in Delhi and now they’ve failed at it in Punjab too.”
While, AAP Senior Leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh said, “BJP may claim to be the largest party of the world but in reality it is the biggest kidnapping gang of the world. BJP approached 10-12 AAP MLAs in Punjab and offered them 25 crores each; they want to break 55 MLAs of ours to come to power themselves. BJP has stashed cash worth 800 crores to buy MLAs in Delhi and 1375 crores to buy MLAs in Punjab. AAP MLAs in both Delhi and Punjab have made it clear that they won’t betray CM Arvind Kejriwal and CM Bhagwant Mann and diligently work towards the welfare of the public. AAP goes around the nation talking about education, healthcare, electricity and water, but BJP goes around looking for MLAs to buy. ED-CBI should investigate this open sale of MLAs immediately and the Supreme Court should take suo-motu cognisance of it.”
Talking about the issue while interacting with the media, Kejriwal said, “I have been always reiterating that BJP is running Operation Lotus in every state of the country to trade MLAs. It is not possible that MLAs are joining BJP on their own. Some are being threatened of frivolous CBI-ED raids and others are offered lucrative money. Yesterday, we got to know that they are offering Rs 25 crores in Punjab. They must have struck a deal in Goa as well.”
“Only people belonging to Goa can tell the amount. This is completely wrong. From where are they getting thousands of crores to trade MLAs? Clearly, they are syphoning off the taxpayers’ money. It is also the biggest reason for inflation in the country. We have been raising our voices for a long time. They have toppled the governments in Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, now they have traded MLAs, for the second time in Goa, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. They tried to do the same in Delhi and Punjab but failed. We condemned this practice as it is completely wrong,” he said.
He added, “The Congress is equally at fault. They are not able to stop their MLAs from switching sides. One party is at fault by trading MLAs in a democracy by paying a whopping Rs 25-50 crores. This is a massive blow to the foundation of democracy.”
“This should not happen in a democracy. However, the Congress cannot be spared either. They tried to lure 10 of our MLAs in Punjab by offering Rs 25 crores but they failed again. They will hold a press conference in a short while to expose them. The entire country wants to know why the Congress representatives break down? BJP has created a vicious system in which people will vote for the party of their choice but they will end up in BJP. They will form the government, no matter if they get the mandate of the people or not. Why is the point of conducting elections or having a Constitution then?”

Senior AAP Leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh termed the BJP the world’s largest gang which kidnaps MLAs to topple democratically elected governments all over the country.
Singh said that not just in one state, they have run this operation to overthrow the governments in Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Uttarakhand, Arunachal Pradesh and West Bengal. They misuse the power of CBI-ED to threaten the MLAs. They caused a rift in Shivsena in Maharashtra and broke them apart.”
He continued, “They ran this operation in Delhi but it was defused by the AAP. They sent to the CBI to raid the residence of Shri Manish Sisodia. They put pressure on him to break him down. They also made an offer of Rs 20 crores to our MLAs. They had a massive budget of Rs 8 hundred crores to topple the Delhi Government. Now, the budget to buy the MLAs in Punjab has increased. BJP made a move to trade 10-12 MLAs of our party. Rs 25 crore was offered to each MLA. They have created a complete plan to buy 55 MLAs and accordingly, the total budget for running the kidnapping gang in Punjab is Rs thirteen hundred seventy-five crores.”
“On one hand, AAP talks about the budget for education, healthcare, electricity, water, pilgrimage for elderly, pension for widows while on the other hand, BJP prepares budgets to trade MLAs one state after the other. Their budget for Delhi was Rs 8 hundred crores while for Punjab, the budget was Rs thirteen hundred seventy-five crores,” he said.
“This kidnapping gang is roaming around in the country with Rs 21 hundred crores in its pocket like an unleashed bull. Why is no action being taken against them? Where is CBI-ED hiding? Our MLAs submitted written complaints to the CBI by visiting their headquarters. How can these kidnapping gangs remain active in their presence? Today, they bought 8 Congress MLAs in Goa. What was CBI-ED doing? Why did they not catch the kidnapping gang red-handed when they were active in Goa and Delhi? They are still active in Punjab. It is my clear warning to this kidnapping gang that they cannot stop the juggernaut of Arvind Kejriwal. AAP turned Operation Lotus into Operation Bogus,” he said.
Singh said, “Our mission is to provide education, healthcare, electricity, water, pilgrimage for elderly and run the Farishtay Scheme. We have run this mission successfully in Delhi and Punjab. Now the entire country is under the influence of this mission.”
“They are praising the Kejriwal Model wholeheartedly. You can pull all the tricks and run your kidnapping gang but this mission will reach the entire country. MLAs of Punjab stand behind CM Sardar Bhagwant Mann to work for providing education, healthcare, electricity and water to the people of Punjab. Similarly, Delhi MLAs stand behind CM Arvind Kejriwal to work for the progress of Delhi. They will happily turn down your offer and they are not scared of your threats. Your gimmick to misuse the CBI-ED for political vendetta will not work on AAP MLAs. We are not Congress. We are not for sale,” he said.
Senior AAP Leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh concluded, “Despite providing so much evidence to expose the Operation Lotus, if the CBI-ED is still not taking any action, then it is crystal clear that they are also part of the kidnapping gang which trade MLAs.
“These two organisations and their Police are helping the BJP in running Operation Lotus like their gang members. They are trying to topple the Punjab Government by trading 55 MLAs and they have already contacted 10-12 MLAs of our party. They are offering Rs 25 crores to each one of them and if they bring other MLAs with them they will get Rs 50-70 crores. CBI-ED should immediately investigate the matter. The Supreme Court should also take cognizance of this matter. Operation Lotus is brutally murdering the democracy and Constitution in the country,” he said.
